Who we are

Terrance is operated by Terrance AI LLC, a US company. When this policy refers to "Terrance," "we," "us," or "our," it means Terrance AI LLC. Questions about this policy can be sent to help@terrance.app.

Information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Mobile phone number — to send and receive SMS and iMessage on your behalf.
• Message content — the text messages you send to Terrance, used to understand your requests and take action.
• Google account data — calendar events, Gmail metadata (sender, subject, date), and task lists, accessed via OAuth with your explicit consent. We access only the scopes you authorize.
• Notes and contacts you create — stored to personalize the service at your direction.
• Usage metadata — timestamps, request counts, and error logs used to operate and improve the service.

How we use your information

• To execute requests you send via SMS, iMessage, or voice.
• To send you SMS confirmations, morning briefings, and reminders you have requested.
• To maintain your preferences, contacts, and notes across sessions.
• To diagnose errors and improve reliability.

We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

SMS messaging

By providing your mobile number and using Terrance, you consent to receive SMS messages from Terrance AI LLC, including service confirmations, briefings, reminders, and follow-ups you have requested.

To opt out: Reply STOP to any SMS from Terrance at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. To re-enable, reply START.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your usage and preferences.

Data security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. OAuth tokens for Google are stored securely and can be revoked at any time from your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access immediately stops Terrance from accessing your Google data.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing help@terrance.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Third-party services

Terrance uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Twilio — SMS and voice delivery. Subject to Twilio's privacy policy.
• Anthropic — AI language model used to understand your requests. Message content is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use API data to train models per their usage policy.
• Google APIs — Calendar, Gmail, and Tasks access with your explicit OAuth consent.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent for SMS messaging at any time (reply STOP).
• Revoke Google OAuth access at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via SMS to active users. Continued use of Terrance after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
